In a significant leadership development, PepsiCo has elevated Shailja Joshi to the position of Senior Director – Marketing, Global Canisters & Imports, underscoring the company’s focus on strengthening its global snacking portfolio.
With this appointment, Joshi will oversee marketing for PepsiCo’s canister-packaged snacks and imports business, including key brands such as Lay’s Stax and Lay’s Minis, while also leading innovation pipelines across global markets.
Having joined PepsiCo India in 2019, Joshi has played a pivotal role in shaping the brand’s marketing and innovation strategies over the past six years. Most recently, she served as Director – Marketing, Carbonated Soft Drinks & Innovation, leading campaigns for flagship brands such as Pepsi, 7Up, and Mirinda. Prior to that, she successfully headed the Potato Chips category in India, driving sustained growth for Lay’s and other snack brands.
Announcing her elevation on LinkedIn, Joshi described her new role as “a new challenge,” expressing gratitude to PepsiCo leaders Roberto Martínez and Gaurav Goel for their trust, and thanking the India leadership team – Jagrut Kotecha, Pavitra Singh, Kaushik Mitra, Nitin Bhandari, and Tarun Bhagat – for their continued support throughout her journey.
Before joining PepsiCo, Joshi held key marketing positions at Britannia Industries and Dabur India, gaining extensive experience in brand management and consumer marketing across diverse FMCG categories.
Her elevation reflects PepsiCo’s strategic intent to tap into Indian leadership talent for global roles, reinforcing India’s growing influence within the multinational’s global business ecosystem.
In her new capacity, Joshi will be responsible for strengthening PepsiCo’s canister-format innovations, expanding import-led portfolios, and driving brand growth across international markets.
