IBTIDA – Ek Mehfil, in collaboration with HSBC India, has announced a landmark event titled ‘Live the Legacy’, a celebration of India’s classical music heritage featuring Sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan alongside his sons Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash, and grandsons Zohaan and Abeer Ali Bangash. The rare three-generational Sarod quintet will perform on November 15, 2025, at the Safdarjung Tomb, transforming the historic monument into an open-air mehfil under Delhi’s moonlit sky.
The event, described as a cultural milestone, seeks to revive India’s story through music — an ode to resilience, legacy, and timeless artistry. ‘Live the Legacy’ reimagines the traditional mehfil, blending nostalgia with a contemporary sensibility to make classical music more accessible and experiential for today’s audience.
Speaking about the initiative, Tanvi Singh Bhatia, Curator, IBTIDA – Ek Mehfil, said, “In India, classical music has always been the soul of our cultural identity, yet our classical arts often do not receive the same recognition as they do in the West.
