Sustainable Luxury Brand Nimmit Makes Its Mumbai Debut with “The Illusion Edit” Collection at ABACA’s Design Showcase

Sustainable luxury lifestyle brand Nimmit is set to make its Mumbai debut at “Black. White. Crafted.”, a three-day curated design exhibit hosted by Studio ABACA. The showcase will take place from October 30 to November 1, 2025, at ABACA’s flagship store in Mahalaxmi, celebrating the synergy between design, craftsmanship, and sustainability.

Derived from the Sanskrit word meaning “a platform that connects people,” Nimmit embodies the spirit of connection — between people, culture, and contemporary design. True to its name, the brand bridges India’s rich textile heritage with modern sensibilities, creating pieces that are both rooted and refined.

For the ABACA showcase, Nimmit will unveil “The Illusion Edit”, a special collection that explores relaxed luxury through cotton mul, handwoven Chanderi, and fine linen. The line reinterprets traditional Indian techniques such as Chikankari, Kantha, Appliqué, Resist Dyeing, and Block Printing to form intricate, geometric surfaces that play with light and shadow. Each handcrafted piece balances minimalism and depth, reflecting the brand’s commitment to artisanal excellence and timeless design.

“Bringing Nimmit to Mumbai through ABACA feels special. This city has always celebrated individuality and design, making it the perfect place to introduce our philosophy in India. With The Illusion Edit, we’re showcasing pieces that capture the essence of Nimmit — each creation carries the hand and heart of our artisans, shaped through time-honoured techniques and a shared respect for detail,” says Manish Shah, Creative Director and Founder of Nimmit.

A second-generation textile entrepreneur, Shah envisions Nimmit as more than a fashion label — it’s a lifestyle movement that sits at the intersection of interior design, fashion, and culture. The collaboration with ABACA, known for its curated furniture and home design, provides an ideal stage for Nimmit to present its ethos to Mumbai’s discerning design community.

Both brands share a passion for craftsmanship and storytelling, making this collaboration a celebration of heritage meeting modern living. For Nimmit, this showcase marks not just a debut but a dialogue — one that connects India’s artistic legacy with contemporary global luxury.
