Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (‘Z’) has partnered with Baseball United, the first professional baseball league focused on the Middle East and South Asia, to bring India its first exposure to professional baseball. The historic collaboration will broadcast all 21 games of Baseball United’s inaugural season live across Zee 5 and three of ‘Z’s leading linear channels—Zee Café SD, &Flix SD, and &Pictures HD—in both English and Hindi.
The season, kicking off on November 14, will feature the Mumbai Cobras, India’s first professional baseball franchise, alongside three other founding teams—the Arabia Wolves, Mid East Falcons, and Karachi Monarchs. The Cobras’ roster includes six Indian players, offering homegrown heroes for fans to rally behind.
Viewers can expect extensive supplementary content on Zee 5, including behind-the-scenes footage, player features, and an original documentary chronicling the league’s creation. ‘Z’ will also promote the season with four weeks of advertising, teasers, and social media campaigns.
“India has a deeply entrenched bat-and-ball sporting culture, and we are excited to introduce millions of sports fans to the speed, strategy, and spectacle of professional baseball,” said Laxmi Shetty, Head-Advertisement Revenue, Broadcast and Digital, Zee Entertainment.
Baseball United Chairman and CEO Kash Shaikh called the partnership “a major milestone” in growing the sport in India and the broader region, giving fans their first opportunity to support homegrown players.
The season will run from November 14 to December 14, culminating in the United Series Championship. Supported by 20 Major League Baseball legends, including Mariano Rivera, Barry Larkin, Adrián Beltré, and Albert Pujols, Baseball United aims to inspire a new generation of fans across India, Pakistan, and the Middle East.
