UNIBIC Foods Appoints Ajay Bathija as CEO to Drive Growth and Innovation

UNIBIC Foods has appointed FMCG veteran Ajay Bathija as its Chief Executive Officer, signalling a strategic push to strengthen its presence in India’s competitive packaged foods and snacks market.

With over 20 years of experience in the FMCG and beverages sector, Bathija spent more than 18 years with The Coca-Cola Company, leading brand strategy, marketing, and growth initiatives across India and South-West Asia, including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and the Maldives.

Sandeep Reddy, Chairman of UNIBIC Foods, said, “Ajay’s proven expertise in brand building and market leadership will be pivotal as UNIBIC continues its growth journey. Known for pioneering wire-cut cookies in India, UNIBIC now offers over 40 cookie variants along with wafers, snack bars, crackers, cakes, chocolates, and traditional Indian sweets under the ‘Swaadesi’ brand. The Bengaluru-headquartered company operates one of India’s largest cookie manufacturing facilities in Hyderabad and exports to more than 25 countries.

Under Bathija’s leadership, UNIBIC aims to enhance its innovation-driven approach, expand global distribution, and reinforce its position in India’s premium snacking segment.
