When passion meets precision, the result is transformation—and that’s exactly what defines Umang Narvekar’s journey. Fondly known across the industry as “The Tanned Event Planner”, Umang isn’t just curating events; he’s building an ecosystem that redefines how India is seen on the global stage of event and wedding production. Recently recognised in ET Panache 35 under 35 (Edition III)—launched at WOW Awards Asia 2025—Umang has become one of the new-age faces shaping the future of live experiences.

As the Director of Tamannaz Worldwide and Founder of T-House of Production, Umang has carved a reputation across Mumbai, Delhi, and Dubai for marrying creativity with seamless execution. With over a decade of hands-on experience, he has mastered the art of balancing imagination with technical expertise, creating events that don’t just entertain but leave an indelible mark.

From Laying Back to Leading the Event Revolution
Umang’s foray into events wasn’t immediate—it was discovered. After what he describes as a “laid-back year of studies,” he found his calling by enrolling at NAEMD for a degree in event management. What began as curiosity soon became a passion, but he quickly realised that creativity alone wouldn’t cut it. The industry demanded a strong foundation in production and technical know-how.

That pursuit of mastery led him to spend six years as Project Manager at Production Crew Entertainment. Here, Umang immersed himself in the intricacies of stage rigging, safety protocols, and logistics—skills that would later shape his hallmark style of delivering seamless, large-scale productions.

When the pandemic brought the live events industry to a standstill, Umang saw opportunity in crisis. Teaming up with partners Saurav Takyar and Shobhit Talwar, he co-founded T-House of Production & T-Foods in Mumbai, with plans already underway for a Pan-India and Dubai expansion by 2025. His entrepreneurial vision soon extended to Thrive Live, a global concert company that has produced successful shows with icons like Atif Aslam, Satinder Sartaaj, and Sonu Nigam.

Building a Global Standard for Events
For Umang, the journey ahead is about far more than producing memorable weddings or star-studded concerts—it’s about setting a global benchmark for India’s event industry. He believes that with rising demand for high-end production, bolstered by international collaborations and government initiatives, India is uniquely positioned to emerge as a world leader.

But challenges remain: technical know-how, infrastructure gaps, and safety standards often hold the industry back. Umang’s mission is to bridge these gaps by:
- Investing in skill development to create a robust talent pool.
- Integrating emerging tech like AI, AR/VR, and sustainable practices into event production.
- Raising safety protocols to meet world-class benchmarks.
- Expanding strategically across markets like India and Dubai.

His vision is a future where events—be it weddings, corporate gatherings, or live concerts—are not just experiences but also benchmarks of innovation, safety, and global excellence.

The Tanned Event Planner’s Legacy
At the heart of it, Umang is not just building events; he’s crafting stories that stay etched in memory. His mix of entrepreneurial courage, technical precision, and creative flair has already placed him among the most promising leaders of the industry. With his eye set firmly on global standards, Umang Narvekar is on a mission to transform India’s event landscape into one that competes—and thrives—on the world stage.
