When emotion becomes the core of creation, magic follows—and few embody that better than Yacchana Rane, Founder of The Design Atelier. Recently featured among ET Panache Women of the Year 2025, unveiled at the WOW Awards Asia 2025, Yacchana represents a rare blend of empathy, artistry, and entrepreneurial courage. Her work is not just about curating weddings—it’s about transforming dreams into deeply personal, expressive celebrations that linger in memory long after the lights fade.

A Leap of Faith Backed by Love & Legacy
Yacchana’s journey into the world of weddings wasn’t a straight road—it was a leap of faith powered by love and resilience. After completing her BA (Hons) in Hospitality Management from London, she began her professional life in hotels and later managed her father’s travel agency for over 15 years. Yet, it was motherhood that nudged her to rediscover herself.
Her late father, S.K. Mehta, her greatest mentor, recognized her creative spark long before she did. He encouraged her to pursue her passion, and with unwavering support from her husband Karan, who has spent over 25 years in the industry, Yacchana took her first step into the world of weddings. What began as a small décor venture soon blossomed into The Design Atelier—a full-fledged planning, décor, and entertainment company that mirrors her emotional intelligence and design philosophy.

Building The Design Atelier: Where Emotion Meets Aesthetics
Over the years, Yacchana has turned countless visions into immersive realities. With Karan and Sarthak as her partners, she built a company anchored in trust, creativity, and heartfelt storytelling. Her approach goes beyond logistics—she believes that Indian weddings are emotional tapestries, woven with family bonds, nostalgia, and new beginnings. For her, emotional intelligence is not just a soft skill, but a cornerstone of great event design.
Every celebration curated by The Design Atelier is treated like a first, regardless of its scale or budget. “Failure isn’t an option—for the couple, the team, or for me,” she says. This pursuit of perfection, coupled with compassion, is what has made her one of the most respected women in India’s wedding and event landscape today.

A Legacy of Love, Trust & Soulful Design
For Yacchana, success is measured not in numbers, but in the emotions her work evokes. Her strength lies in her people—her husband Karan, her partner Sarthak, her sons Rohaan and Aveer, and her mother-in-law, whose constant belief keeps her grounded.
Each wedding she designs becomes an emotional commitment—an opportunity to celebrate life, relationships, and memories. Her journey remains a tribute to the two men who shaped her world: her late father, who believed in her potential, and her husband, who continues to stand beside her as both partner and pillar.

From hospitality to heartfelt design, Yacchana Rane’s story is one of passion meeting purpose—of turning life’s most emotional moments into artful experiences. Through The Design Atelier, she doesn’t just build weddings; she builds legacies—crafted with soul, designed with intent, and powered by love.
