In the lead-up to the 20th edition of the prestigious Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon (VDHM), promoted by Procam International, a new campaign titled ‘Breaking 58:53’ has been unveiled. The campaign aims to motivate runners and individuals to push past their physical and emotional barriers.
More than just a race, the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon has grown into a movement celebrating inclusion, empowerment, sustainability, and community transformation. With over 40,000 runners expected this year, VDHM is focused on breaking not only records but also limitations.
The number 58:53 represents more than just the course record—it stands as a symbol of what can be achieved through passion, purpose, and perseverance. The ‘Breaking 58:53’ campaign highlights the human stories of runners striving to surpass personal boundaries, transforming a world-class record into a metaphor for ambition and resilience.
Vivek Singh, Joint MD, Procam International said, “This campaign is not just about the elites or the clock. It’s a call to anyone striving to take the next step in their own journey. It’s about igniting a spirit of courage and inspiring every individual to break their own 58:53.”
Conceptualised and executed by Initium Productions, a Procam International group company, the campaign unfolds in two phases.
Phase I focuses on awareness through three short films exploring the 58:53 benchmark from different perspectives—
- Cultural: Relating the achievement to Indian sporting milestones to underline its importance.
- Physical: Showcasing the grit and endurance of elite athletes through visually striking treadmill challenges.
- Rational: Delving into the science and psychology of peak performance.
Phase II builds on the emotional connection created over the years, bringing together runners, clubs, and the larger community under the shared goal of breaking barriers—whether personal or societal.
Santosh Pillai, Co-Founder, Initium Productions said, “Stats and numbers can be intimidating for those who are not clued into the sport. It was important for the Initium creative team to build a campaign with simplicity, intrigue and deliver it in a lighter vein. From the response we see for the campaign, looks like those objectives have been met.”
The campaign teaser will air on Sony Sports 1, Sony Sports 1 HD, and across the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon’s digital platforms.
This year’s race will see a world-class lineup, including Ethiopia’s Birhanu Legese and Kenya’s Isaac Kipkemboi, along with India’s Gulveer Singh and Abhishek Pal. In the women’s category, Ethiopia’s Alemaddis Eyayu and Kenya’s Lilian Kasait Rengeruk lead the field, joined by Indian elites Sanjivani Jadhav and Lili Das.
The Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon 2025 will flag off from the iconic Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 12, 2025.
