1. Can you share the story of how DB Spaces came into being, what inspired you to start this venture, and what gap or opportunity in the wedding planning market you were aiming to address?
Long before I planned and designed weddings, I spent a decade building a career that dabbled with design on its most versatile scale. At eighteen, I studied Architecture and spent the next few years finding my footing in corporate management. Life has never unfolded in half measures for me. Every path I’ve chosen has been vivid, intentional, and driven by a quiet fire to create beauty with meaning.
The calling to plan and design weddings came with my own wedding, where a bride’s eye for detail turned into a full-blown pursuit. For months, I immersed myself in mood boards, fabrics, and curated menus, experiencing unparalleled joy. That experience brought DB & Spaces to life.
A few years later, with unwavering support from family and friends, I built a brand with a trusted team of Designers and Planners. The idea truly took shape after marrying a mountain boy in Uttarakhand. That grounding in the mountains gave me roots and wings to dream. Initially, it was very personal—friends were the first to trust me after seeing my own wedding up close. They handed me their celebrations, and from those small yet emotionally charged beginnings, DB & Spaces began.

2. DB Spaces has carved a niche in the wedding planning industry. How would you describe your brand’s unique positioning in such a competitive market?
At DB Spaces, we’ve always believed in standing apart by staying true to who we are. We’re not just planners; we’re designers and storytellers. My architectural background shapes the brand so that every wedding feels like a design project built with precision, creativity, and an editorial eye. Nothing is cookie-cutter—every celebration is personal, fresh, and something you might expect to see on the pages of Vogue.
We also started in destinations people didn’t consider viable, like Uttarakhand, turning logistical challenges into opportunities. This foundation as mountain wedding specialists helped us scale nationally and internationally while maintaining authenticity.
Ultimately, our clients see DB Spaces as a balance of structure and soul. We are detail-driven, with SOPs, timelines, and vendor management, yet never forget weddings are about people. That combination of empathy and professionalism sets us apart.

3. How has your leadership as a woman impacted the way DB Spaces is perceived and positioned within the wedding planning industry?
As women, we are natural multitaskers, balancing creativity, management, and empathy. But operating in a male-driven society comes with challenges—people often judge knowledge, decision-making, and business acumen.
For me, that became fuel to prove myself stronger. My journey rests on three foundations: an architectural background giving a creative edge, identifying gaps in the wedding industry, and mastering every aspect of management—SOPs, operations, finances, timelines, vendor handling. Above all, empathy guides every decision.
Being a woman founder in a male-driven operations space has helped break stereotypes. Handling large budgets, leading teams, executing high-pressure events, and winning national recognition shows that leadership is defined not by gender but by vision and courage. Today, DB Spaces is seen as design-led, fearless, and part of a new generation changing how weddings are imagined.

4. Planning high-profile events requires both creativity and precision. How do you balance innovative design with operational efficiency while maintaining your brand identity?
High-profile weddings come with added social pressure, especially when celebrities are involved. Our team is always aware that our work will be seen and critiqued by a massive audience.
Yet, famous couples want the same thing as any couple—a personal, meaningful, and rooted celebration. By focusing on their intimate expectations rather than the external noise, the event naturally speaks for itself, no matter the spotlight.

5. Over the years, what strategies have been most effective in establishing DB Spaces as a trusted and sought-after name in the wedding planning sector?
Building Trust at the Core: Trust is our foundation. Every client relationship is nurtured with honesty, clarity, and ownership.
Constant Learning and Exploration: We travel, observe, and engage with diverse cultures and designs to deliver fresher, more original experiences.
Execution with Practicality: Design drives us, but we ensure every idea is feasible, timely, and seamlessly delivered.
Design-Led DNA: Every event is approached like a project, with precision, detailing, and aesthetics that feel global yet contextually rooted.
Empathy as a Guiding Principle: Beyond timelines and checklists, empathy leads our decisions, making clients view us as custodians of their most important moments.

6. Are there any untapped opportunities or segments in the wedding planning industry that DB Spaces is looking to explore in the near future?
Hidden Indian Gems: Beyond Jaipur, Udaipur, and Goa, heritage towns and boutique properties remain underutilized—places like Orchha, Maheshwar, Hampi, Khajuraho, and Kerala’s backwaters offer immense potential.
Cross-Industry Collaborations: Collaborations with fashion houses, luxury brands, chefs, and tourism boards can elevate weddings into lifestyle statements, merging couture, fine dining, and cultural tourism seamlessly.
International Destinations: Beyond Italy, Bali, Thailand, and Dubai, untapped locations like Croatia, Montenegro, Portugal, Georgia, and Morocco offer breathtaking landscapes and exclusivity without being overdone.
