Tata Motors appoints Shailesh Chandra as MD & CEO

Tata Motors has announced the appointment of Shailesh Chandra as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 October 2025, for a three-year term.

Chandra, who has been serving as Joint Managing Director for Tata Motors’ passenger vehicles and passenger electric mobility businesses, will continue to lead the company’s electric vehicle (EV) initiatives, a key area in its growth strategy.

Alongside this appointment, Dhiman Gupta has been named Chief Financial Officer, succeeding P.B. Balaji, who will take over as CEO of Jaguar Land Rover.

These leadership changes underscore Tata Motors’ renewed focus on passenger EVs and its commitment to innovation and sustainable mobility as the company navigates strategic transitions at Jaguar Land Rover.
