Kommune & Netflix India Launch 4th Edition of ‘Voices of Tomorrow,’ Spotlighting Senior Adults in Dubbing

Kommune, in partnership with Netflix India, has announced the fourth edition of Voices of Tomorrow (VOT) under the Voice Equity Project, with a dedicated focus on senior adults aged 45 and above. The initiative aims to discover, train, and empower under-represented voice talent, positioning dubbing and voice acting as viable career paths while promoting diversity and inclusion in the industry.

Following previous editions that championed queer voices, economically disadvantaged children, and older adults, this year’s programme returns exclusively to the 45+ talent pool. The five-month initiative, running from August to December 2025, will audition approximately 250 Mumbai-based English-fluent applicants, narrowing the selection to 25 finalists.

The chosen participants will undergo an intensive eight-week dubbing training programme, followed by a dedicated industry training week. Sessions will be led by renowned voice coaches Shernaz Patel, Alekh Sangal, and Simran Singh, with support from multiple dubbing studios. The curriculum will combine technical skills, industry exposure, and soft skills development, preparing participants for professional opportunities across films, TV shows, audiobooks, ads, and more.

Roshan Abbas, Founder, Kommune India, said, “This edition, dedicated to senior voices, brings with it authentic storytelling layered with depth that deserves to be heard. We hope this collective effort not only gives fresh voices a platform but also a real shot at belonging in the industry.”

Since its inception in 2022, Voices of Tomorrow has added over 60 new voices to the dubbing talent pool. Alumni have gone on to work on high-profile projects, including Pushpa 2, Squid Game 2, Carry On, No Good Deed, and Gali Gali Sim Sim.

Ashwini Kulkarni, Senior Manager – Dubbing, Netflix India, added, “Partnering with Kommune to support Voices of Tomorrow has truly helped us highlight and amplify under-represented voices, challenging the traditional casting approach. As our content travels beyond borders, authentic voices will continue to enrich the global narrative.”

Applications for Voices of Tomorrow are now open for Indian citizens aged 45+ residing in Mumbai and fluent in English. Selected participants will train in Mumbai and gain first-hand experience in professional dubbing environments.
