HSBC India joins GMR Rugby Premier League as ‘Powered By’ Partner for Inaugural Season

The GMR Rugby Premier League (GMR RPL), India’s first-ever franchise-based Rugby Sevens tournament, is set to kick off its inaugural season with a significant partnership. Organised by Rugby India and GMR Sports, the league has announced HSBC India as the “Powered By” partner for Season 1. GMR continues to support the league as the Title Partner.

This landmark collaboration with HSBC India marks a strong step towards expanding the sport’s footprint in India and globally, especially through the fast-paced Rugby Sevens format. The GMR RPL is being played in Mumbai, at the Shahaji Raje Bhosale Sports Complex (Andheri Sports Complex), from June 15 to June 29.

Season 1 of the GMR Rugby Premier League will feature 34 matches, with participation from 30 marquee international players representing elite Rugby Sevens nations such as New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Fiji, Argentina, Great Britain, Ireland, USA, and Spain. The league also includes 18 international players from Canada, Hong Kong, and Germany, alongside 30 Indian players, promising a competitive and diverse tournament.
