His band, aptly titled Harsh Ranjak Live, embodies his craft—“Ranjak” literally means entertainer, and that’s precisely what he is. He entertains, ignites the stage, and breathes life into every audience he performs for.
With over 3000 live shows under his belt and a 7+-year-long musical journey, Harsh has built a strong identity through his unique blend of Bollywood, Rock, and Sufi genres. From unplugged, emotion-charged sets to soul-stirring anthems, he’s cultivated a growing fanbase that deeply connects with his music and vibe. His extraordinary talent was recently recognised with the prestigious Entertainers Connect Award.
Harsh also appeared on Indian Idol Juniors and continues to explore new creative formats, with original compositions and performance storytelling on the horizon.
In this candid chat with EVENTFAQS Media, Harsh talks about his journey, his musical philosophy, and what it means to be part of the 11th edition of Entertainers Connect.
1) What does being a part of the 11th Entertainers Connect mean to you? How do you see it levelling up your work and boosting your presence in the industry?
It’s a big moment. Being part of the 11th Entertainers Connect is not just a performance opportunity; it’s a celebration of artists who’ve stayed true to their craft. For me, it’s a space to connect with the right kind of audience and fellow musicians who understand the hustle. It definitely pushes me to do better and opens up new doors in the live music circuit.
2) What inspired you to choose this path as your profession? And now that you’ve spent time in the industry, what shifts or positive changes have you witnessed?
Honestly, I didn’t choose music; it kind of found me. The stage became my home early on. What’s been beautiful to see over the years is how the audience has evolved; they’re now more open to listening to something raw, something that’s not trend-based but emotion-led. The independent scene is getting the love it deserves, and that’s been one of the most positive shifts.
3) How do you stay relevant and innovative in such a dynamic and evolving entertainment industry?
By staying honest and evolving naturally. I don’t try to force trends. I observe, I learn, I absorb energy from other artists, from the crowd, even from moments of silence. I think relevance comes when your art grows with you and still remains real.
4) What’s next for you? Any specific projects or collaborations you’re excited to explore?
A lot, actually. I’m working on original compositions that tell real stories, mine and others, maybe even some spoken word and storytelling formats. Collaborations are on the cards too, especially with artists who bring something emotionally raw to the table.
5) What’s your go-to trick for winning over a tough crowd? Any mantra you repeat before stepping on stage?
I stop trying to “win” them. I just try to be in it. I remind myself why I started in the first place. And before every performance, I take a deep breath and say to myself, “Sing like it’s the last time.” That’s when something real happens.
6) What advice would you give to aspiring artists?
Don’t chase quick fame. Chase truth. There’s no shortcut. Your art will only grow when you grow. Perform even if two people are listening. Show up even when no one’s clapping. And never forget why you started.
