JW Marriott Goa has announced the appointment of Himanshu Taneja as its new General Manager. With over 25 years of experience in the luxury hospitality sector, Himanshu brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the role.
An alumnus of the Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Trivandrum, Himanshu began his career with The Leela Mumbai. He has since held senior roles at several of India’s top luxury hotel chains, including Taj Hotels and The Oberoi Group, before joining Marriott International.
Himanshu’s journey with Marriott began in 2010 at the flagship JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu, where he served as Executive Chef. His culinary leadership led him to The St. Regis Mumbai in 2017 as Culinary Director, and later, in 2018, he was promoted to Director of Culinary for South Asia. In this role, he was instrumental in shaping the region’s food and beverage strategy.
In 2023, he transitioned to operations, taking on the role of Senior Director of Operations for South and East India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Overseeing 48 hotels, Himanshu’s strategic foresight and innovation significantly elevated Marriott’s food and beverage presence in the region.
Known for his high energy, keen eye for detail, and ability to inspire high-performing teams, Himanshu has consistently delivered outstanding results throughout his career.
At JW Marriott Goa, he will now lead the property’s leadership team with a focus on enhancing employee engagement, elevating guest satisfaction, building strong stakeholder relationships, and driving business growth.
