The newly launched MYNA Academy of Performing Arts in Khar West, Mumbai, offers a vibrant and welcoming space for people of all ages to explore music, dance, and theatre. Spanning 2,500 square feet, the academy encourages creativity and expression, from toddlers just beginning their artistic journeys to seniors looking to rediscover the joy of performance.
Founded by Arti Havaldar, MYNA is supported by the Anibha Arts Foundation—a not-for-profit initiative by the Havaldar family. The academy draws inspiration from the melodious and adaptable Myna bird, reflecting its approach to learning and creativity.
Unlike traditional institutions, MYNA adopts a learner-centric model, driven by individual curiosity rather than rigid structures or competitiveness. It offers expert-led sessions, sensorial workshops, and masterclasses that provide hands-on, real-world experiences in the performing arts.
Its faculty includes renowned artists and educators who help foster a culture of confidence, curiosity, and community among students. Signature programs include early-expression classes for toddlers, and music, dance, and theatre offerings for all age groups. Immersive weekend labs, lecture-demonstrations, and community performances further enrich the learning experience.
Arti Havaldar, Founder, MYNA said, “We aimed at creating a space where people come to feel the arts and not merely study them. Learning at MYNA is about connection, creativity, and most importantly, joy. We believe that everyone, whether three or seventy-three, has the potential to find their rhythm, voice, and story at MYNA.”
With its inclusive and joyful approach, MYNA Academy of Performing Arts seeks to build a nurturing community that celebrates passion, purpose, and artistic expression across generations.
