Hitachi India announces the appointment of N Venu as the new Managing Director of the company, effective 2 June 2025. Venu, who currently serves as the MD & CEO of Hitachi Energy and Region Head of South Asia at Hitachi Energy, will now take on expanded responsibilities within the organization.
This leadership transition follows the elevation of Bharat Kaushal, Hitachi’s first Indian Managing Director, to the role of Executive Chairman, Hitachi India.
In his new role, Venu will focus on expanding Hitachi’s legacy in India in line with Hitachi Group’s new management plan – Inspire 2027. By strengthening the cohesion around 28 Hitachi group companies in India, Venu will strive to create value for customers as Hitachi transforms into a digital-centric company and expand the Lumada business while creating synergetic opportunities for the organization, especially by integrating IT, OT (Operational Technology) proficiency to further strengthen Hitachi’s over nine decades of flourishing partnership with the nation.

With nearly four decades of experience, Venu has led Hitachi Energy in India since its formation in 2019. He also served as Chairman of the Karnataka chapter of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) during 2024-25. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from NIT Warangal.
The announcement comes as Hitachi continues its transformation into a digital-centric company, with India playing a pivotal role in its global strategy.
