The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) has launched its Varanasi Chapter, strengthening its presence in major culinary and cultural centres of the country. This local chapter aims to support restaurant owners in the region by promoting advocacy, community development, and industry growth.
Gurmanik Bhasin, Founder of Grub Hub, has been named Chapter Head, with Harsh Jhunjhunwala of Sri Annapurna Foods as Co-Chapter Head. Dishaant Badlani of Vaziri Brew Pub will serve as Secretary, Ashish Gupta of Sagar Ratna as Joint Secretary, and Garvita Kapoor of Wife On Leave as Treasurer.
This move is part of NRAI’s wider effort to build a stronger grassroots network and offer a collective platform for restaurant owners to handle local industry challenges.
Founded in 1982 by pioneers like L.C. Nirula, Madan Lamba, O.P. Bahl, R.D. Gora, and A.S. Kamat, the NRAI represents over 500,000 food service establishments across India, in a market worth ₹5.69 lakh crores.
Now in its 42nd year, NRAI is led by a governing body of over 30 top restaurant CEOs and owners. The addition of the Varanasi Chapter reflects its ongoing commitment to empowering the food service sector at both local and national levels.
