
India’s fashion event, Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI, is back in Mumbai for its 49th edition, promising a week of displays, innovative collaborations and stars. From March 13 to 17, the Jio World Convention Center will transform into a hub of creativity, showcasing the latest trends in fashion, beauty, and lifestyle.
The opening evening will be an innovative blend of fashion and sport as two polo teams will engage in a friendly match. The event will culminate in a showcase by renowned polo brand La Martina, featuring a capsule collection designed by Rajesh Pratap Singh. This collaboration promises to redefine the boundaries between style and athleticism.
This season, Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI to embrace the growing craze for street style with ‘All You Can Street’ showcase their collection on Day 1. Additionally, a footwear and apparel company, Skechers, will collaborate with an Indian designer, presenting a quirky collection that puts streetwear at its heart. For menswear aficionados, GQ joins forces with FDCI to showcase an all-men’s street collection featuring designers like Jaywalking, Countrymade, and Rishtha by Arjun Saluja.
The Atelier to kick off with a first-of-its-kind presentation — Lakme presents LFW Edition: Fashion X Beauty Trends. Curated by Perclers Paris, this trend magazine highlights the eagerly anticipated 2024-25 global trends in fashion, beauty, design, and lifestyle.
Sustainability will remain a key focus, with India’s biggest sustainability award, R|Elan presents Circular Design Challenge showcasing the winning collection of its global edition. Sustainable Fashion Day will also feature presentations, including designers like Yavi, TIL, Inca, Gaurang, and Akaaro by Gaurav Jai Gupta.
This season will be all about partnerships, as Skechers collaborate with a renowned Indian designer, while Corona joins forces with Saaksha & Kinni to present their debut swimwear line ‘Hana’ featuring mandala designs.
LG, on the other hand, teams up with Gauri and Nainika to showcase a collection that incorporates their newly launched refrigerator line. These collaborations offer fresh perspectives and promise never-before-seen designs.
Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI continues its tradition of nurturing new talent with platforms like INIFD presents GenNext, NEXA presents ‘The Spotlight’, INIFD Launchpad, and FDCI X Pearl Academy First Cut. These initiatives provide a launchpad for aspiring designers to showcase their talent to the fashion community.
Audience can witness the Magnum Chocolate Dipping Bar’s unique flavour concoctions inspired by Indian designers, which are being presented for the first time in India after winning over crowds at Cannes. In addition, a drag show and exhibition will be held by the luxury fashion jewelry brand, Valliyan. Anamika Khanna, Rahul Mishra, Shantu Nikhil, Siddhartha Tytler, Anushree Reddy, Archana Rao, and many more will display their designs.
