
Commercial hot air balloon company Sky Waltz is all set to operate India’s first hot air balloon safari in a tiger reserve in Madhya Pradesh. Staying true to its tourism tagline ‘The Heart of Incredible India’, Madhya Pradesh Tourism has launched the hot air balloon wildlife safari in the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve to revive the State’s Tourism and attract visitors post-pandemic.
The activity was launched by Madhya Pradesh Forest Minister Vijay Shah on December 25.
After inaugurating the new service by taking a ride, Shah said, “One more adventure has been added for tourists coming to Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve with the launch of the hot air balloon wildlife safari. It is the first in any tiger reserve in the country. Now, like Africa’s forests, tourists in India will also enjoy hot air balloon wildlife safari.”
He further stated that the State was planning to introduce this service in Pench, Kanha and Panna tiger reserves as well.The activity will be restricted to the buffer area and people can watch tigers, leopards, Indian sloth bear and other wild animals from a height.
Sky Waltz Balloon Safari is India’s first fully licensed and Government-approved commercial hot air balloon operation.In January 2008, SkyWaltz received official authorisation from the Ministry of Civil Aviation to conduct hot air balloon activities across India. For a period of over two years prior to this, Sky Waltz’s Directors, in consultation with international Ballooning consultants, worked tirelessly with the Ministry of Civil Aviation to establish internationally recognised regulations and guidelines for the establishment of commercial Hot Air Ballooning in India.
The Sky Waltz team consists of highly experienced, internationally licensed pilots from Europe, the USA, Australia, Canada, India and the UK, along with professionally trained operational and technical staff. Globally recognised standards of safety along with international operating procedures have been implemented from the outset.
