
Transcendence is an annual Music event, that pays tribute to Legends of Carnatic & Western Jazz. This yearTranscendence 2.0 tribute concert is for the Carnatic legend Mysore T. Chowdiah and Jazz Legends Oscar Peterson, the concert where the Music of the ‘Vidwan of the Violin’ meets the ‘Maharaja of the Piano’. Transcendence means the act of rising above something to a superior state. Spiritually it means you have reached the state of Moksha or Nirvana …When you achieve transcendence, you have gone beyond ordinary limitations and the mundane.
The event is organized by Gigue Entertainment a division of SRH Consilium LLP lead by Rajashekhar Srinivasan and this initiative is supported by Aditya Birla Sunlife Capital Mutual Funds, Indian Oil Corporation & Bombay Dyeing. Transcendence 2.0 will be held at St. Andrew’s Auditorium, 55, Saint Dominic Road, Bandra West, Mumbai 400050 on June 8th, 2019, 6.30pm onwards.

Gigue Entertainment brings two modern day legends Dr. Mysore Manjunath (Violin) and Grammy nominee – Louiz Banks (Piano))to take the audience through various levels of consciousness culminating into the transcendent state through their music. accompanied by Vidwan Bangalore Amrit-Khanjira, Gino Banks-Drums. Gianluca Liberatore-Bass Guitar and Pt. Yogesh Samsi- Tabla.
Carnatic legend Mysore T. Chowdiah (1894- 1967) violinist, innovator, teacher, an organizer, a composer and a thespian. He designed the seven-stringed violin He was called the ‘Vidwan of the Violin’. While he remains a shining star in the hearts and minds of true connoisseurs, his contribution to Carnatic music is alive till today.
Oscar Peterson (August 15 1925-December 23, 2007). He was a Canadian Jazz Pianist and Composer and called the “Maharaja of the piano” by Duke Ellington. He released over 200 recordings, won eight Grammy Awards, and received numerous other awards and honors. He is considered one of the greatest jazz pianists and played thousands of concerts worldwide in a career lasting more than 60 years.
