Times Business Awards

‘The Times Men of the Year Awards’ an Optimal Media Solutions initiative was held at JW Marriott, Kolkata on August 9, 2018. The main aim of the event was to honor men who have contributed immensely to the society. The event witnessed over 33 Gentlemen from Kolkata being honoured for their wonderful contribution. Men of substance, men of great caliber and strength, who have truly been an inspiration to all of us.

Straightline Solutions executed the event. MC Anuj Char hosted and delivered the welcome address at the event. Keeping the audience entertained throughout, Anuj steered the entire event from start to finish and kept the momentum going by handing out 37 awards to all winners.

The chief guests for the evening included the legendary film actor and poet and National Award Winner Soumitra Chattopadhyay, popular Bengali author Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay, Kunal Kapoor and many more.

 
Commenting on the event MC Anuj says “It was a surreal experience to be standing on stage and also announcing the lifetime achievement award to an absolute legend like Soumitra Chattopadhyay. And not to forget the extremely revered author, Shrisendu Mukhopadhyay too. I consider myself very fortunate to even be in the same room as such gentlemen. Apart from this, I absolutely enjoyed myself as I made Kunal Kapoor and Dev dance to their own movie songs. The crowd in Kolkata is always so sophisticated and intellectual that it makes artists like myself take our performance to the next level! And that’s exactly what ensued upon stage! It was also extremely special for me when Dev himself complimented me for the way I hosted the event and even forced me to dance with him!”

Apart from all the awards, there were 5 performances by the talented artist Suleiman, a fifteen-year-old who has performed and won on India’s Got Talent. It truly was a night of the stars and the audience was satisfied with glitz, glamour and lots of entertainment.
