The 3rd Edition of Glam Cricket presented by Weekend Address took place from May 18 to 20, 2018 at DRB Sports Complex Surat, Gujarat. The entire planning and execution of the event was done by SGEMA.

The idea of ‘Glam Cricket’ was conceived by SGEMA (South Gujarat Event Management Association) and South Gujarat Mandap Decorator & Electrical Association which was launched in 2016 specially designed and conceptualised to bring the entire eco-system of the event industry together on a single platform to bond, network and grow  with the spirit of Togetherness. Sports was sought as the best medium and ‘Cricket’ being a common religion of every Indian was chosen to achieve the desired objective. This year was the 3rd Edition of Glam Cricket 2018 which was attended by more than 5000 people in 3 days.

Unlike usual Box Cricket, GLAM CRICKET was all about Glamour, Fun and Entertainment in the box with twisted rules, humorous commentators and ordinary players with extraordinary talent coming together to compete together and rejoice being part of the event industry. The main highlight of the event was the opening ceremony where more than 150 local artists which included 80 Dancers, 40 Nasik Dhol Players, 20 choir singers along with bands, 10 Singers performed at the event

This Initiative was well supported by all associations and community of event industry such as South Gujarat Mandap Decor & Electrical Association, Surat Artist Alliance, Stage Light, Sound & DJ Alliance,  Photographers, Videographers, Led Screen Providers Alliance, etc.

Team SEGMA’s challenge was to bring the entire industry and its stakeholders under one roof. In order to make the event significant a grand opening ceremony was organised where only local artist and talents were picked up the opportunity to excel their art to the entire event fraternity and it came out extraordinary.

“The main idea behind organising Glam Cricket Event was to bring everyone related to event industry such as event companies, decorators, florist, sound, light, catering, cinematographers and artist together, play together, know each other, celebrate and grow collectively. Every year its popularity is increasing and people have grown immensely via collaboration and association with their competitors and other industry vendors to achieve greater heights together,” says Vaibhav Agarwal, Hon. Secretary, South Gujarat Event Management Association (SGEMA)
