
A Royal and Traditional Wedding Ceremony and Reception at the GMR Grounds, Hyderabad was put together flawlessly by Tamarind Global, on September 23, 2017.
Sumant Jayakrishnan was brought on as the Décor Designer, where decor elements following the royal and traditional theme, included, beautiful floral décor, lotus motifs and Tirupati and Mysore Palace influences and a grand dinner area setup.

17000 sq. ft. of production, where the barren GMR ground was converted into a stunning spectacle in just 20 days of setup time with over 500 labours.
A 1,57,000 sq. ft. of a support-less hangar was created with a clear height of 75ft. The buffet layout was 1200 feet long and the dessert counters spanned 200 feet.
Parking was created for over 3500 cars. The outside façade made with 109 in lit temple tops at the entrance and the inside divided into elaborate sections for a dinner seating, VIP areas, and a royal entrance with elaborate floral pillars. The entrance also displayed 2 giant 36 feet lion structures on either side welcoming the guests.

The entire theme and inspiration was taken from Tirupati with the lotus being the key motif. The dining area was inspired by Mysore Palace and had a two tiered Mezzanine created to accommodate 300+ people. The highlight was the stunning lotus mandapam of 42x42ft which was situated inside a water body of 7500 sq. ft. with 1,80,000 litres of water and surrounded by 4 lotus structures of 18ft dia on which 109 pandits sat chanting through the ceremony.
A total of 5000+ dias across the venue, over 5000 light fixtures and 200+ chandeliers interspersed with string art and florals which created a spectacular effect. A giant Gopuram of 47 feet was created between the mandap and dining area. Top VVIP’s from CM’s to Governors attended the function.

The entertainment featured traditional music and pandits chanting – music was specially curated for the entire function. The Catering was provided by Foodlinks and the function saw close to 10000 guests in attendance.
