Lumière Wedding Company, the wedding division of Kochi-based event company Lumière, planned and managed a Mughal-inspired Christian engagement ceremony at Lulu Convention Centre, Thrissur, Kerala on July 6. The event was attended by around 700 people.
The wedding company worked with a blue, lavender, gold and white colour palette for the décor, with inspirations from wedmegood as well as Mughal architecture. The bride’s blue lehenga also went with the theme.

Talking about the client brief, Deepthi Pradeep, Events Head – Wedding Division, Lumière Wedding Company said, “During our initial meeting with the client, she mentioned about going forward with an English theme. However, a couple of weeks later, she mentioned she wanted to go ahead with an Indian theme since her cousins settled in US and UK wanted to wear lehengas and dance to Bollywood songs. So we started working on an Indian theme.”
The agency then proceeded to work around the idea of jhalis and mughal architecture. “Our bride picked up few inspirations from wedmegood and google and sent it across and we worked on the designs. She got a blue and gold lehenga from Bangalore and we worked around the colour palette consisting of blue, white, lavender and gold. The flowers were in blue, white and lavender. Together with the traces of Indian decor inspirations, we added our essence of uniqueness and simplicity,” added Pradeep.

The pathway was again inspired by Mughal architecture, where the ceiling of the pathway was decorated with gold sequence hangings as well as gold wrapping-paper hangings.

The element of the lobby decor was an installation, accentuated by blue painted pots along with theme-based flowers.

Tin cans covered with Indian prints and glassware with candles and flowers made for table centrepieces.
The venue worked closely with the Lumière to ensure the décor could be executed as per plan. Abijith J., Assistant Manager, Hotel Operations, Lulu ICC, Thrissur remarked, “The decor and the cuisine was planned accordingly to create a memorable experience for the guests.”
